Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef (or chicken/turkey)
  • 16 oz pasta shells
  • 15.5 oz salsa
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 2 (1 oz) packets taco seasoning
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese or sour cream


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400˚F (200˚C).
  2. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
  3. Brown the ground meat in a large pot until cooked through, draining excess grease.
  4. Add the cooked pasta to the pot with the meat.
  5. Sprinkle taco seasoning over the mixture, add salsa and water, and mix well.
  6. Spread shredded cheese on top and stir in cream cheese or sour cream if desired.
  7. Bake for 18-22 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Cool for 5 minutes before serving, and garnish as desired.
