Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk, warmed
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Colorful eggs (for decoration)
- Sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl. Whisk until blended.
- Mix the warm milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla in a separate bowl until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for about 60 minutes.
- Punch the dough down and divide it into three equal pieces. Roll these pieces into strands and braid them together into a wreath shape.
- Place the braided dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, decorate with colorful eggs and sprinkles, and let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
Using fresh ingredients, especially the eggs, makes all the difference. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or freeze for longer storage.
