Description
A cozy and quick recipe for chocolate chip cookies, perfect for celebrating Valentine’s Day with family.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter (cold and cut into cubes)
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- ¾ teaspoon baking soda
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- ⅓ cup valentine sprinkles
- 24 chocolate hearts (unwrapped)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 410°F (210°C).
- In the large bowl of your stand mixer, combine the cold cubed butter and both sugars. Mix on medium speed for about 4 minutes until creamy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. Add to the butter mixture all at once and mix until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips and sprinkles.
- Scoop mounds of cookie dough onto a lined baking sheet and sprinkle with additional heart sprinkles. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove cookies and cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes. Press a chocolate heart into the center of each warm cookie and let cool for an additional 3-4 minutes.
- Transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. To reheat, warm in the microwave or a low oven.
