Description
Delicious bite-sized churro donut bites rolled in cinnamon sugar, perfect for a comforting treat or family gathering.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
- In another bowl, combine milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat (about 350°F).
- Scoop small amounts of the batter and carefully lower them into the hot oil, frying in small batches.
- Fry until golden brown on all sides, turning as needed.
- In a separate bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon for the coating.
- Once fried, remove churro bites and drain on paper towels then roll in the sugar-cinnamon mixture while warm.
- Serve warm with coffee or hot chocolate.
Notes
For a healthier version, consider baking or air-frying these bites. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 48 hours, or freeze for up to a month.
