Delicious and easy-to-make French toast roll-ups filled with cream cheese and fresh strawberries, perfect for busy mornings and family brunches.
Ingredients
- 8 slices soft white bread
- 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, finely chopped
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3 tbsp butter (for frying)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- Trim the crusts from the bread slices and flatten each slice with a rolling pin.
- Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Spread the mixture on bread slices and sprinkle with chopped strawberries.
- Roll up each slice tightly and place seam-side down.
- Whisk together eggs, milk, and cinnamon in a shallow dish.
- Dip each roll-up in the egg mixture to coat all sides.
- Heat butter in a skillet and cook roll-ups until golden brown on all sides (4–5 minutes).
- Roll warm roll-ups in cinnamon-sugar mixture until coated.
- Serve immediately with extra strawberries or maple syrup.
Notes
Leftovers can be refrigerated or frozen for later enjoyment. These roll-ups are versatile; you can change up the filling with different fruits or flavors.
