Ingredients
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup molasses
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg and molasses until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
- Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll the chilled dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are slightly crisp but centers are soft.
- Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
