A comforting casserole that blends savory French onion flavor with ground beef and rice, perfect for busy families.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 3 cups Cooked White Rice
- 1 can Condensed French Onion Soup
- 1 cup Sour Cream
- 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tbsp Chopped Parsley
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat with butter until no longer pink.
- Stir in onion powder and garlic powder and let them bloom.
- In a slow cooker, combine the browned beef, condensed French onion soup, and sour cream. Mix until creamy.
- Gently fold in the cooked rice.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours.
- Stir in half of the mozzarella and top with the remaining cheese. Optionally, broil for 4 to 6 minutes for a golden finish.
- Let sit for 10 minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve.
Notes
Consider using day-old rice for better texture and adding Worcestershire sauce for extra flavor. Leftovers can be repurposed in stuffed peppers or mixed into sautéed vegetables.
