A simple yet luxurious Overnight Croissant Breakfast Casserole that warms hearts and bellies, perfect for weekend brunch.
Ingredients
- 6 croissants, torn into pieces
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar or Swiss)
- 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled sausage or ham (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing the pan)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and vanilla extract.
- Layer the torn croissant pieces in the greased baking dish.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissants.
- Sprinkle the cheese, sausage or ham, and green onions on top.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- In the morning, bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes or until the casserole is puffed and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
