Description

A refreshing and light drink combining the flavors of lime, oats, and cinnamon, perfect for hydrating and calming hunger pangs.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons rolled oats
  • 1 to 1.5 cups cold water
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 small pinch to 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • a tiny pinch of salt (optional)


Instructions

  1. Measure the oats. Put 2 tablespoons of rolled oats in a small bowl or jar.
  2. Add cold water. Pour 1 to 1.5 cups of cold water over the oats.
  3. Soak the oats. Let them sit for about 15 to 30 minutes.
  4. Blend quickly. Put the soaked oats and water into a blender. Pulse or blend for 10 to 20 seconds until smooth.
  5. Strain if you wish. Pour the blend through a fine sieve or cheesecloth into a cup.
  6. Stir in lime and cinnamon. Add fresh lime juice and ground cinnamon. Stir until creamy.
  7. Taste and adjust. Add a tiny pinch of salt or more lime to taste.

Notes

This drink can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 48 hours. Warm gently if desired.
