Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugars on medium speed until light and fluffy.
- Add salt, vanilla, and eggs; beat until combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture, beating just until combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Drop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto baking sheets, spacing them a few inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers are set.
- Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for better texture. Use room temperature ingredients for a smoother batter.
