Hi there! I’m Sarah, and this is where my heart lives—in the kitchen, in the stories, and in the food I share.

I didn’t grow up dreaming of becoming a chef. I didn’t attend culinary school or work in a trendy bistro. Instead, I learned in a kitchen that was always a little loud, a little messy, and always full of warmth. My love for cooking started with my mom humming as she stirred a bubbling pot and my grandmother teaching me how to “feel” when the dough was just right—no measuring cups in sight, just instinct and love.

For me, cooking was never about impressing anyone. It was about gathering, laughing, comforting, and remembering. A lopsided birthday cake could be more magical than a five-star dessert because it came with giggles, flour on the floor, and memories baked in.

Years later, as a mom of two, I found myself trying to hold everything together—work, laundry, school lunches, and somehow still getting something warm and nourishing on the table before bedtime meltdowns. And that’s when I realized: there must be so many people like me. People who love food, love their families, but don’t love stress.

So, I created Cook That Dish—not to showcase perfect meals or gourmet skills, but to celebrate real food made by real people in real kitchens.

Here, you’ll find:

  • 🌟 Quick, approachable recipes made with heart
  • đź›’ Everyday ingredients and clever time-saving tips
  • đź’¬ Little kitchen stories and honest moments (burnt edges and all)
  • 🧡 A friendly space to explore, learn, and laugh—because every mess has a memory

Why “Cook That Dish”?
Because sometimes, life gets loud. The kids are yelling, the emails are piling up, and your brain can’t handle one more decision. And in those moments, you just need a little spark, a little encouragement—something that says: You’ve got this. Just cook that dish.

This blog isn’t about chasing perfection. It’s about finding joy in the everyday. A cozy plate of pasta. A cookie baked at midnight. A story shared over a simmering pan.

If you’re here, welcome. Grab a cup of coffee—or a wooden spoon—and stay awhile.
We’ve got something delicious to make, together.

With warmth (and maybe a little butter),
