Description
Delicious homemade churro bites filled with warm Nutella, perfect for sharing and enjoying as a family treat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- Oil for frying
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Nutella (for filling)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring water, butter, sugar, and salt to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the pan.
- Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
- Beat in eggs one at a time until the dough is glossy and elastic.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan to about 350°F (175°C).
- Use a piping bag to pipe small bites into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
- Remove churro bites from oil and drain on a wire rack.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and toss the warm bites until well coated.
- Fill with Nutella and serve warm.
Notes
These churro bites are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 24 hours or frozen for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven to regain crispness.
