Description

Deliciously buttery cookies filled with your favorite jam, perfect for family gatherings and special moments.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups (280 g) all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (at room temperature)
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 cup raspberry jam


Instructions

  1. Line two 13×9 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream together the butter with the sugars using a mixer until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg yolk, vanilla, and almond extract and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed.
  6. Using a 1 tablespoon dough scoop, roll dough into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Press the heart shape into the top of each dough ball and freeze for 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  9. Warm the jam for 10-15 seconds and fill each heart indent with about 1/2 teaspoon of jam.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes until cookies edges start to turn golden brown.
  11. Let cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
