Description

Rich and fudgy brownies that are quick to make and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup oil or 1 stick (1/2 cup) melted butter
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a small baking pan (8×8). Line with parchment for easy removal.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine oil or melted butter, cocoa powder, and sugar. Mix until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  4. Add flour and salt, mixing gently to combine without overworking the batter.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts if using. Spread batter in the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 20 minutes. Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For a fudgier brownie, reduce flour to 3/8 cup. Store in an airtight container for up to three days.
