A comforting and quick dish that brings together tomatoes, cream, and pasta, perfect for busy family nights.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 oz canned crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- Fresh basil, for garnish
- 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or penne)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes, season with salt and pepper, and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. If the sauce seems thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
Use fresh basil for a garden-bright flavor. Optionally, toast red pepper flakes for heat and add Parmesan for a salty finish.
