Description

A comforting and quick dish that brings together tomatoes, cream, and pasta, perfect for busy family nights.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 oz canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • Fresh basil, for garnish
  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or penne)


Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, season with salt and pepper, and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. If the sauce seems thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water.
  6. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

Use fresh basil for a garden-bright flavor. Optionally, toast red pepper flakes for heat and add Parmesan for a salty finish.
