Description
A comforting and creamy chicken dish that brings families together around the table.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup freshly grated jack cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 tsp dried thyme or oregano
- Fresh basil (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then cook in the skillet for 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Sprinkle garlic powder over the chicken and pour in chicken broth; simmer gently.
- Add heavy cream, stirring until combined. Let bubble for a few minutes until thickened.
- Stir in grated jack cheese until melted and creamy.
- Serve hot over rice or pasta, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
Use room temperature chicken for even searing. Freshly grated cheese melts smoother than pre-grated. For lighter sauce, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half.
