These Cinnamon Sugar Pecans are a delightful, crunchy treat, perfect for snacking or as a topping for various dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 egg white
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups whole pecans
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with foil, spraying it with cooking spray.
  2. Use a hand mixer to beat the egg white and water until stiff peaks form.
  3. Gently fold in the vanilla until the mixture looks glossy and slightly thick.
  4. Toss the pecans in the egg white mixture until well coated with a thin layer.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt until even.
  6. Pour the sugar mixture over the pecans and mix until they are well coated.
  7. Transfer the pecans to the prepared baking sheet, spreading them in a single layer.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes, then stir and bake for another 12-15 minutes, watching for golden edges.
  9. Remove from oven and cool on aluminum foil to crisp up.

Notes

For variations, consider using maple sugar or adding orange zest for a citrus twist. If clumping occurs, break pieces gently while warm.
