A moist and festive bread filled with sprinkles, perfect for holiday gatherings and family moments.
Ingredients
- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour (210g)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk (240ml)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ cup red and green sprinkles (jimmies style)
- 1 tablespoon coarse sugar (optional)
- Additional sprinkles for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line or grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla and buttermilk.
- Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- Gently fold in the sprinkles, being careful not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. If desired, sprinkle with coarse sugar or more sprinkles.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
Notes
Serve warm with butter or drizzle with honey for an extra touch. Stores well at room temperature for up to three days or freeze for longer storage.
