Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring they blend well before adding the next. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the creamed mixture. Stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between them.
  7. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, until edges are golden brown and centers are soft.
  8. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. You can freeze them for up to three months.
