Description

Deliciously tender cookies topped with a melted chocolate kiss, perfect for family gatherings or weekday treats.

Ingredients

  • 150 g all-purpose flour
  • 50 g natural cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 115 g unsalted butter (softened to room temperature)
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 30 g granulated sugar
  • 30 g sprinkles
  • 30 g powdered sugar
  • 24 Hershey’s kisses (unwrapped)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, stir together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric hand mixer to beat butter until creamy, about 3 minutes. Add brown sugar and cream until fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until combined.
  5. Add dry ingredients to wet mixture and mix on low speed until no flour patches remain.
  6. Scoop about 1-1.5 tablespoons of dough, roll into a ball, and coat with sugar, sprinkles, or powdered sugar.
  7. Place the dough balls on the lined baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch between each.
  8. Bake for 7-8 minutes until puffy. Immediately press a Hershey’s kiss in the center of each cookie after removing from oven.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill the dough for 10 minutes for puffy cookies. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
