Description
A refreshing and restorative tonic made with chia seeds and lemon, perfect for busy families.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 12 to 16 ounces cold water
- 1 to 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice (or lime)
- Optional: 1 teaspoon honey or a few drops of monk fruit or stevia
- Optional: pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- Add water to a glass or jar.
- Stir in chia seeds really well for about 20 seconds.
- Wait 3 minutes, then stir again.
- Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes until it thickens.
- Add lemon juice and sweetener if using. Stir and drink right away.
Notes
Store in a covered jar in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. If it thickens too much, stir in a splash of cold water to loosen.
