These Candied Pecans feature a glossy, crackled shell and a soft buttery center, perfect for elevating salads or enjoyed as a sweet snack.
Ingredients
- 2 cups pecan halves
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large skillet, combine sugar, water, cinnamon, and salt over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves.
- Add the pecans and cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens and the nuts are coated (about 10 minutes).
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Spread the pecans onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and let cool completely before serving or storing.
Notes
For added flavor, toast the pecans in a dry skillet for 3-5 minutes before candying. Store cooled pecans in an airtight container for 1-2 weeks.
