Ingredients
- 6 cups apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with cinnamon and salt, then spread them evenly in a greased baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, and melted butter to form a crumble mixture.
- Sprinkle the crumble over the apples.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are bubbly.
- Serve warm.
- Let the crumble cool for 10 minutes before scooping.
- If the top needs more color, watch for golden edges and return to the oven for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of warmed cream once it is ready.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container once completely cooled.
